Sixth Form Admissions

We are delighted that you are considering Harlington Sixth Form for the next stage of your education.

We have fair and transparent admissions criteria for students joining the Sixth Form. External applicants have an equal opportunity to a Sixth Form place as an existing Harlington Year 11 student, guided strictly by the oversubscription criteria of the school Admissions Policy which can be found here.

All places are subject to students achieving the appropriate entry criteria for their desired courses which can be found below.

Application forms are online and can be found by clicking the links below. The deadline for applications is the last Friday in November.

Entry Criteria

Our entry criteria take into account the performance of different ability students in previous cohorts at Harlington School. We offer a fresh start for all learners and to that effect it is vitally important that students are placed onto courses on which they will achieve success. We offer a variety of courses and each course has specific entry requirements according to its difficulty.

A level BTEC level 3 BTEC level 2
5 GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above including English Language and Mathematics. 5 GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above including English Language and Mathematics. 4 GCSE passes at Grade 3 or above. They cannot have studied the same Level 2 course previously.

English and Mathematics GCSE

Harlington School offers GCSE retakes in English Language and Mathematics as it is compulsory for students to achieve at least grade 4 in these subjects in Year 11. In order to study for a GCSE retake students must be studying a Level 2 course as their main programme. We are unable to offer GCSE retakes as stand-alone programmes of study. Students must continue to study English and/or Mathematics in Year 13 if they fail to achieve grade 4 in Year 12.
