THE DEPARTMENT:
The Design and Technology department at Harlington School is friendly and supportive. It consists of product design, food, graphics, and textiles specialisms. The department’s team vision is to nurture students’ passion for our subject. We understand the importance of creativity and imagination in the curriculum and its role in a broad education. Therefore, we see Design and Technology as an area which offers a wide range of learning experiences. It is the department’s philosophy to provide students with an opportunity to undertake a curriculum which is broad, interesting, purposeful, and provides relevant life skills.
The working culture within the faculty and its environment is best placed for nurturing NQTs as well as developing talented and experienced teachers. The faculty offers a committed, passionate and an ideal space for teachers at the start of, or continuation of, their career in a school with a caring atmosphere. Colleagues will be offered extensive support in their professional development and will contribute to a strong team aiming to raise the standards of achievement in the Design and Technology curriculum.
